Saturday Tuah, allegedly a former National Patriotic Front of Liberia (NPFL) commander, is suspected to have committed crimes against humanity in Liberia during the First Liberian Civil War (1989-1996).

Arrested on September 13, 2023, in France, he was charged with committing and being complicit in crimes against humanity. Initially placed under judicial supervision, the prosecution appealed this decision and requested that Saturday Tuah be placed in detention. The three judges of the Investigative Chamber of Paris ruled that the gravity of the facts, along with the risk of him consulting with possible accomplices and witnesses, was indeed high, and ordered his placement in detention.

Following the Kunti Kamara case, it is the second case in France against a Liberian national who allegedly committed crimes during the Liberian Civil Wars.

Civitas Maxima filed a complaint in France in May 2018 against him for his alleged commission or command of multiple crimes against humanity. Civitas Maxima is formally a plaintiff in the case alongside Liberian victims and is represented by the French lawyer Sabrina Delattre.
